- We support active citizen input and community involvement on major issues involving municipal development and redevelopment. The purpose is to assist the City Council, Commissions and Staff to be more responsive to the needs of the community.
- New development should be balanced properly to minimize the increase of traffic, congestion and crime. All new developments should be consistent with the nature and character of our community, while respecting the importance and value of our small businesses.
- We support responsible redevelopment of Old Town that preserves the history and rural character of our Town Center and is consistent with our "low density" General Plan.
- We believe the government use of eminent domain should NOT be used for private gain. Eminent domain should NOT be used to take private property and businesses to benefit developers or as a rationale to raise the tax base.
- We support the preservation of historic properties, the creation of a cultural arts center and encourage the formation of a Cultural Arts / Historic Commission to insure these goals are achieved for the enjoyment and creative expression of our community.
- We believe prospective and incumbent City Council members should not create the appearance of conflicts of interest by accepting developer money for their campaigns. For the same reasons, they should not accept contributions or payments from City vendors, contractors, public employee unions or others who have a pecuniary or economic interest in issues, actions or contracts before the Council for its approval, modification or rejection.
