I. Development A. We support
responsible development that is consistent with our “low density” General
Plan. B. We
support responsible redevelopment of Old Town that preserves the history and
rural character of our Town Center. C. We support a Housing Element that is
consistent with the character and nature of our City and strikes a balance to
the excessive demands and interference of State government for increased
affordable housing. D. We support the development of: 1. an equestrian facility with access to
the trail system. 2. a
cultural arts center. 3. new
parks and athletic fields. 4. reasonably
priced community facilities. 5. and
formation of a Cultural Arts / Historic Commission. II. Preservation We support the preservation of: 1. our
“low-density” zoning. 2. our
historic properties and equestrian heritage. 3. our
“semi-rural” nature and character. III. Ethics A. We support the development
of a comprehensive ethics policy that covers elected, appointed and employed
City officials. This policy should be
adopted as an ordinance that creates accountability through penalties. B. We
believe prospective and incumbent City Council members should not create conflicts of interest by accepting campaign contributions from developers, City
vendors & contractors, public employee unions or others who have an
economic interest before or with the City of Yorba Linda. IV. Fiscal Responsibility We believe our City Council and City
Staff must be fiscally accountable to the public. They are the caretakers of our money. Tax increases and salary increases should
be carefully reviewed in light of the available revenues and their impacts on
our current programs and resources. We
believe public salaries should be commensurate with those they serve. |
